Nicole Charky-Chami is an editor and producer with more than 15 years of experience across brands, social media and editorial.

She currently works as senior editor at Raw Story and teaches several journalism courses at UCLA Extension. She also taught a social media course at Loyola Marymount University.

Prior to joining Raw Story, she worked as a deputy editor at Los Angeles Times Community News. Throughout the pandemic, Nicole focused on breaking news for Patch in Los Angeles.

She has reported, edited and produced content for a number of publications and organizations, including The Los Angeles Times, City News Service, The Hollywood Reporter, Sounding Point, The Hollywood Bowl, The Ford, The Los Angeles Philharmonic, Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, Glamour and Brother, a Snapchat channel.

Nicole previously worked as Maria Shriver’s social media and video producer. She researched, booked talent, coordinated, produced, shot and edited digital content for Shriver’s platforms, including her digital video series Architects of Change and her podcast Meaningful Conversations.

Nicole was a talent-producer on Snapchat’s dating show Phone Swap (Season 2) and Grammy award-winning artist Bekon’s “Cold As Ice” music video. She is an original member of ATTN:, where she helped grow the brand’s audience, writing and producing viral video content, licensing video and collaborating with social media platforms.

Her reporting has been recognized by the Online News Association, the Los Angeles Press Club and the Society of Professional Journalists.

Nicole is Syrian-Lebanese, Sicilian and a descendant of the Tonawanda-Seneca tribe. She earned her degree in Journalism from Loyola University Chicago, minoring in Political Science.
